New Year's Eve 2008 - Palace of The Golden Horses

This year's New Year's Eve celebration was rather a pair affair celebrated with my partner. Maybe because it was on a working day and getting our friends to come out with a plan was a bit difficult as they were all busy working too. Hence, the both of us chose to spend our eve dining and celebrating at the Palace of The Golden Horses. We had a great time dining as we paid 1 price but got to dine in 3 different restaurants in the hotel. I think we payed about 100++ per head. This included our entrance to their NYE countdown party. It was great in a way to celebrate in this manner as we did not have to go out and join the crowd in the countdown, allowing ourselves being touched by God knows who and then get caught in the jam to get back home.

Well, let's get down to the makan-ing session.

First, we entered the Jap restaurant. I think I got myself full there. It was a colourful affair with different coloured sushi.

Did not take this at all. Did not wanna stuff myself with rice.

The fresh oysters on a bed of ice. This was clearly my partner's favourite. I think he just slurped about half a dozen.

The array of sashimi... The salmon was simply fresh and the colour was very tantalizing....

The tempura's were situated outside the restaurant because of the frying and all. I really got myself stuffed here and we had another two restaurants to go!!

I'm an exceptionally big fan of fried sotong but this fried squid here was a little let down. I think it was instant. The squid was like rubber and I did not enjoy it much....

We then headed over to the Chinese restaurant. I would say it was one of the best Chinese restaurant that I've dine in so far. Food was great. I loved the Peking duck and my partner was so into his mango dessert.

We had from clockwise - Stir-fried prawns, egg tart( was scrumptous, and delicious. It was the best egg tart ever), lobstersalad.

The mango dessert.

Roasted duck

Peking duck...

This was all what we had at this restaurant and I felt like my tummy would explode any moment then....

After this restaurant, we told ourselves we would only go to the next restaurant only for desserts. The next restaurant named Carousel Cafe offered an International Buffet with international spread. Although they have more choices here, the reason why we did not choose to dine here first was because on Christmas we already went fro a lunch buffet and certainly we had enough of international spread.

At the entrance of CArousel Cafe. It was indeed a colourful affair....=)

The desserts were heavenly....I really like food which comes in a range of colours...It just increases one's appetite but sorry to say, for that night I was just too full to stuff any more food down my throat .

This was our final stop. No more eating...Just awaiting the New Year and the countdown at The Grand Salon....

So much food and a great companion was the best way to usher in the new year....^-^
